It is quite easy to learn the procedure of making your own exfoliating body scrub with a few easy to get hold of ingredients and you can do this from the comfort of your own home.

Body scrubs invigorate your skin and remove the dead cells. Your skin also takes on a healthy glow but the overall effect the scrub will have on your skin is determined by the components you choose to use. The gentle exfoliating effects of olive and date seed powders are preferred by some whilst others tend to go for essential oils which sooth and add moisture to the skin.

Below is a basic salt scrub recipe that you can make at home:

Exfoliating Sea Salt Scrub

Ingredients:

* lb of sea salt (use fine to medium grain for the best results)

* 1 ounce sunflower oil

* 3oz of jojoba oil

* 2oz liquid soap base (unscented)

* 1/4 teaspoon peppermint essential oil

* 1/4 tspn blood orange essential oil

* 2 teaspoons dried raspberry seeds

Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl then put in an appropriate container.

Any of the listed essential oils can be replaced with other oils such as sandalwood, lavender, jasmine and grapefruit.
